Camelot — Where Our Dedicated Theater Projects Live
Camelot is the premium Garland submarket. Larger lots, custom and semi-custom builds, executive-tier homes that often include dedicated media rooms, bonus rooms big enough for proper theater builds, and the kind of square footage where a full Atmos system actually has room to breathe. If you’re reading this page because you’re in Camelot and thinking about a theater upgrade, you’re probably in the right price bracket to get something actually good — not a big TV over a couch, but a real theater experience.
Most of our higher-ticket work in Garland happens in Camelot. Dedicated theater rooms, 100”+ projection systems, full Control4 or Savant integration, custom seating — the whole package. We enjoy these projects because they’re the kind of work where the design and execution actually matter. A $35,000 theater build in Camelot is a different animal than a $3,000 TV mount — and we treat them accordingly.
What Camelot Builds Look Like
The homes out here give us room to work. Characteristics we see regularly:
Dedicated media rooms. Most Camelot custom builds from 2000 onward included a dedicated media room in the original floor plan. These are typically 16x22 to 20x28, with 9-10 foot ceilings and often minimal windows. That’s the ideal footprint for a real theater — enough room for two rows of seating, proper speaker placement, and acoustic treatment.
Unfinished basements (rare but possible). DFW isn’t basement country, but a handful of Camelot homes have partial basements or walkout lower levels. These are the best theater spaces in the market — complete acoustic isolation, natural darkness, no exterior wall resonance.
Pre-wired structured cabling. The better Camelot builders (Darling Homes, Toll Brothers, some custom builds) included proper low-voltage pre-wiring during construction — CAT6, RG6, speaker cable, and HDMI pulls to key locations. This saves us significant time and cost on larger projects.
Larger outdoor living. Covered patios, outdoor kitchens, pool decks, and sometimes dedicated outdoor entertaining pavilions. Commercial-grade outdoor AV becomes viable in these spaces — not just a weatherproof TV, but a proper distributed audio system with sub-zones, IR-controlled shade systems, and climate-integrated video.
Services We Do Most in Camelot
Dedicated Home Theater Rooms ($25,000 – $125,000+)
The typical Camelot dedicated theater project:
- Room prep: acoustic panels, bass traps, diffusers, velvet-wrapped soffits, dedicated circuits
- Display: 120”-150” ambient-light-rejection screen with 4K laser projector (JVC NZ8, Sony VPL-XW7000, or Epson LS12000)
- Audio: 7.1.4 or 9.2.4 Atmos with in-wall/in-ceiling speakers (Triad, KEF, or James Loudspeaker)
- Subwoofers: dual or quad SVS/Rythmik subs for even bass response across seating
- Seating: Valencia, Octane Seating, or Fortress Seating (budget-dependent)
- Automation: Control4, Savant, or URC MX HomePro for single-remote control
- Lighting: Lutron Caséta or RadioRA2 with dimmable cove lighting
We’ve done a number of dedicated theaters in Camelot in the $25K-$55K range, and a handful in the $75K-$125K range for reference-grade builds.
Whole-Home Control4 Integration
Most Camelot homes are candidates for serious home automation — AV, lighting, shades, climate, and sometimes access control and cameras, all integrated under one app. Typical Camelot Control4 project runs $15,000-$60,000 depending on scope.
Components we integrate regularly:
- AV distribution (HDMI matrix switching to every TV in the home)
- Whole-home audio (usually Sonos or Control4 Triad)
- Lutron lighting and shade control
- Climate integration (Ecobee, Nest, or Control4-native thermostats)
- Apple TV / Nvidia Shield / native streaming via the control system
- Intercom and doorbell integration (DoorBird, 2N)
98” TV Mounting for Great Rooms
Many Camelot homes have 18-20 foot great rooms with soaring ceilings. A 65” or 75” TV gets absolutely lost in these rooms. Our recommendation is almost always 98” minimum — these are now available at reasonable prices (TCL and Hisense 98” sets start around $2,200, and the Sony Bravia 9 98” at the premium end around $12K-$15K).
Mounting a 98” TV isn’t like mounting a 75” — it’s a two-person job, the mounting hardware and wall reinforcement are substantial, and we usually run in-wall HDMI to avoid the visual weight of cables.
Outdoor Entertainment Integration
Camelot homes with pools and covered patios benefit from proper outdoor AV:
- Outdoor TVs: Séura Storm Ultra Bright or SunBriteTV Pro 2 for direct-sun viewing
- Landscape speakers: Sonance or Triad OS series for distributed audio across the yard
- Climate-controlled outdoor racks: for any gear that stays outside permanently
- Weatherproof keypads or in-wall controls: for pool-area control without phone access

Why Our Camelot Clients Chose Us
Camelot homeowners almost universally do research. By the time you call us, you’ve probably already looked at three other installers. What differentiates us:
We’re honest about trade-offs. Every equipment choice involves compromises. If you ask us about a specific projector, we’ll tell you what it does well and where it falls short — not just sell you what has the biggest margin.
We actually design the room. Acoustic treatment isn’t an upsell. It’s the difference between a theater that sounds good and one that sounds like a big TV in a drywall box. We design the treatment plan during the consultation.
We don’t subcontract. Every technician on the project is part of our crew. Commercial-integrator-level work at residential-integrator pricing.
We support what we install. Five-year workmanship warranty. Phone support for life. If your 15-year-old kid recalibrates the receiver and breaks something, we’ll talk you through fixing it.
Camelot Commercial AV
We also handle commercial AV for businesses in and near the Camelot area — primarily home offices for professionals and executives working remotely at a serious level. Typical home office AV projects:
- Dual or triple 4K displays for trading or finance workflows
- Conference-grade cameras (Logitech Rally Bar, Poly Studio X) for video calls
- Acoustic treatment for podcast-quality audio
- Dedicated home office automation (lighting, shades, temperature) tied to calendar integration
Adjacent Neighborhoods
Camelot sits between Firewheel to the south, Duck Creek to the west, and Lake Ray Hubbard waterfront to the east. We regularly work in all of these neighborhoods and can integrate projects across multiple properties if you own a primary home here and a vacation place elsewhere.
